The YRC Unit and the RRC of Infant Jesus College of Arts and Science for Women, Mulagumoodu, jointly commemorated the World Breast Cancer Awareness month.A Breast Cancer awareness programme was organised on 8th October 2024 at 10:00 AM in Sr. Maggie Seminar Hall for all the final year PG students.

The initiative aimed to spread awareness about breast cancer, educate participants on early detection methods, and highlight the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to reduce the risk of the disease. Dr. C. Nithila, MBBS, D.N.B., General Surgeon from Dr. Jeyasekharan Hospital, Nagercoil, served as the Chief Guest and delivered an enlightening talk on the topic “Breast Cancer and Its Prevention.” The session covered various aspects such as risk factors, symptoms, diagnostic methods, treatment options, and preventive measures.

The YRC Unit of Infant Jesus College of Arts and Science for Women, Mulagumoodu, in association with Youth Awakening Day, organized an Elocution and Pencil Drawing Competition on 8th October 2024 at the Multi-Purpose Hall. The event began at 1:30 pm and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, highlighting their talents and creativity. The aim of the event is to commemorate the Youth Awakening Day by providing a platform for students to exhibit their literary and artistic skills and to foster a spirit of creativity, expression, and intellectual engagement in alignment with the values of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Nearly 67 students participated.Ms.Rincy Ullas, MBA., CEO & Founder of Concord Consultancy .

Services, Dr. T. K. Angelin Beula , Assistant Professor of English, Dr.Diana, Assistant Professor of Tamil, Dr.Suma, Assistant Professor of Commerce, served as the Judges of the events. The winners of the events are as follows, For English Elocution Competition Ms.A. Abigail of III BA English, and Ayshma. S of I MA English. Tamil Elocution Competition Ms. Abi Dharshana D of III B.Com and Ms. B. Vidya of I MA English.Pencil Drawing Competition Ms. J. Saira Bannu of II BA English and Ms. Annshika K J of III BA English.

An awareness video was telecast, which highlighted key information about Alzheimer’s disease, its symptoms, preventive measures, and the importance of mental health. This was particularly impactful in raising awareness among the young audience. A talk by Dr. H. Self-Care Month, observed from June 24 to July 24, is dedicated to raising awareness about self-care and its interventions, celebrating their benefits, and calling for renewed commitments to include self-care in health systems. To prioritize self-care and make it a part of their lifestyle, the YRC of IJCASW observed the International Self Care Day on 24.07.2024. Both UG and PG students of the various departments participated in the event. .
