Undertaking Drug Abuse Pledge:

NSS volunteers stressed the effects of Drug usage on 11.08.2022 along with all the students undertook a pledge on Drug Abuse to protect the youth generation from drug abuse and thus spreading awareness about the same.

Independence Day

Independence Day is inevitably a proud moment for every Indian to celebrate it with great honour. Independence Day is celebrated throughout India and every corner of the country irrespective of caste, creed and religion. On the occasion, prior to the Independence Day, IJCASW commemorated India's 75th year of Independence as 75th Independence Day “Suthanthira Thina Amutha Peruvizha Festival” celebration on August 10, 2022. The guests of honour is Dr. S. Subramania Pillai. Former Principal, Member Senate and Member Syndicate, ManonmaniamSundaranar University, Tirunelveli and Dr.JohnJothi Prakash, Former Principal of T.K.N.M.S.College, Kallikulam.The guest of honour and gave a motivational talk on “Contributions of unsung Freedom Fighters” by sharing valuable historical information and importance of independence in our life.




Flag Distribution

In relation to the Independence Day, the NSS Unit of IJCASW distributed the National Flag to the public as well as the College Students on 12.08.2022 near the campus Locations.



Independence Day Celebration:

Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on 13th August, 2022 and15th August, 2022 in the college ground with the staff and students to mark the 75th year of freedom from the British rule. On this special occasion, the programme started with flag hoisting by the Secretary and the Principal. Our secretary emphasized the role of youth today as the true wealth of a country. The students of IJCASW recited our National pledge.

Topic Indian History Related with Freedom Fighters, Freedom Struggle, and Independence Day

Quiz competitions are always thought-provoking and enlightening, that provide excitement among the students .The main objective of this event is to make them aware of Freedom Fighters’ struggle related to the Indian History of Independence. The quiz was conducted in order to inculcate the feeling of patriotism in the students. The NSS Unit of IJCASWhas arranged a Quiz Competition on behalf of the celebration of the 75thIndependence of India on 17th August 2022. The Quiz had a preliminary selection test and two rounds. Rules and regulations of the quiz were explained at the beginning.

The event witnessed zealous preparation and participation of students. 62 students enrolled their names for the quiz competition. Students from various degree programmes participated in the competition. 60 students participated in the preliminary test. Twenty five questions were given in the preliminary test and each question carried two marks. It’s a written test and each participant was given an individual question paper. The students who secured twenty and above were allowed to participate in the subsequent rounds. Twenty five students secured twenty and above. Hence there was a representation of five teams Section A, B, C, D, and E, each consisting of five students. The time of the program was from 1 p.m. to 2.10 p.m. at room number 31 and 33 in the college. The quiz began with at 1.05 p.m. the preliminary test came to an end at 1.25 p.m. the members of the NSS Unit valued the papers and the second round began at 1.40 p.m. It was an interesting two round competition consisting of various questions. Students were allotted 30 seconds to answer each question in two rounds. The teams were awarded 5 points for every correct answer in round one and it consisted 10 questions. If the group intended to pass the question, a team will get 15 seconds to answer the question and for each correct answers for passed questions, 3 points were granted. The students showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. This round was an elimination round. Only first three teams who secured the first three places were allowed to participate in the final round. The final round consists of twelve questions and each questions carried three points for each correct answers for passed questions, 2 points were granted. The Quiz was a great success and participants enjoyed it thoroughly. The program was conducted by two rounds of questions-answers and at the end of the contest two teams were rewarded as the 1st and3rd place. Team A got the first place with 23 points and Team E got the second place with 17 points. All the students enjoyed the contest. Thus the programme came to an end by 2.10p.m.
